At the World Humanitarian Summit, Istanbul, May 2016, the unique role and capabilities of religious actors to humanitarian response was highlighted in a Special Session on Religious Engagement, a Pre-Meeting of Religious Groups, JLI & Soka Gakkai International’s Side Event on the evidence for religious groups’ contributions to humanitarian response, and many other side events.
JLI is maintaining this webpage (www.jliflc.com/whs) to continue the energy mobilized at the World Humanitarian Summit on engaging religious actors, particularly local faith communities, for more effective and localized humanitarian response.
